Construction Lawyer Patrick Mulry Joins Griffith Davison as Partner

DALLAS, TX (June 30, 2020) – Texas based law firm Griffith Davison, P.C. continues to experience significant growth in its Construction Law practice. The firm has added a total of five new attorneys in the last twelve months, with the most recent being tenured construction lawyer Patrick (“Pat”) Mulry.

Pat is an attorney and mediator with twenty-three years of legal experience. He joins Griffith Davison as a Partner in the firm, where he will focus on high-stakes construction defect litigation and arbitration cases. “We are extremely pleased with Pat’s decision to join the firm. He is a strong litigator and I believe that clients will see immediate value in his deep understanding of construction law and the related building practices and processes,” said Scott Griffith, President and Founding Shareholder.

Pat graduated from Wabash College with a B.A. in Political Science, and obtained his J.D. from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law. He is also a member of the inaugural class of attorneys who are Board Certified in Construction Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Outside of the office, Pat’s interests include spending time with his family, being the owner of an automotive racing team and being a certified open water diver. Pat is also a certified welder and enjoys a variety of building projects. He was privileged to help build dozens of houses through his work with Habitat for Humanity.

Kylie Barfield joins the Griffith Davison Firm

The partners and staff at Griffith Davison are pleased to welcome Kylie Barfield to the firm. Kylie is passionate about helping clients understand and navigate the legal process, and enjoys advocating on their behalf. Prior to joining Griffith Davison, Kylie worked as part of the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and she was also a volunteer at the Community Lawyering Center in Dallas.

As an associate attorney at Griffith Davison, Kylie will focus on serving the firms clients in the area of commercial litigation and dispute resolution. “I’m excited about the recent growth of the firm and about the vibrant new talent, such as Kylie that we are hiring,” said Kimber Davision, Managing Partner.

Kylie is a recent graduate of the UNT Dallas College of Law where she completed her Juris of Doctor in 2019. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Southern Methodist University. In her spare time, outside of the firm, Kylie enjoys horseback riding, gardening, working out and spending time with friends and family.

Griffith Davison was privileged to have two of our partners present last week at the 33rd Annual Construction Law Conference held in San Antonio, Texas. “It was great to be among the over 800 attendees at this year’s event; and Scott and I were truly honored to be selected as presenters. We enjoyed the opportunity to share our experience and insights with so many other respected colleagues” said Kimber Davison, VP & Managing Shareholder.

The following is a high-level overview of the sessions that we presented:

Scott Griffith presented “Who is Bankrolling this Project?” – The nature and character of private project financing has implications and ramifications to the Contractor. This discussion will explore how a Contractor can peek behind the curtain of the Owner’s financing and how a Contractor can anticipate and manage the associated risks.

Kimber Davison spoke about “Oddities in the Anti-Indemnity Statute” – The Anti-Indemnity statute was intended to simplify indemnification between parties to a construction contract. Why is it still so complicated? What oddities have arisen in applying this statute to indemnity and insurance and what can be done to navigate this quagmire?

Griffith Davison Welcomes Attorneys Ben Warden and Tatianna Struble

Griffith Davison, P.C., is pleased to welcome two new associate attorneys to the firm:

Ben Warden enjoys the art of advocating for clients and is passionate about matters relating to construction law. As an associate attorney at Griffith Davison, Ben focuses on commercial litigation and dispute resolution for the firm’s clients. Prior to joining Griffith Davison, Ben completed legal internships with law firms in Oklahoma and Texas, and a clerkship with Justice Tom Colbert at the Oklahoma Supreme Court. Ben received his Juris Doctorate in 2019 from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. As a law student, Ben served as Problem Writer for the Board of Advocates and Articles Editor for Oil and Gas, Natural Resources and Energy Journal (ONE-J). He is also a member of the Order of Solicitors and was a Finalist in the ABA Regional and Whitten Burrage Negotiation Competitions. In his spare time, Ben enjoys playing golf, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Tatianna Struble is passionate about delivering client-centric service and taking a personal approach to counseling clients. She says it is one of the main reasons she chose to start her law career at the Griffith Davison firm. Because of her strong interest in matters relevant to the construction industry, Tatianna’s practice will focus on commercial litigation serving the firm’s clients. Tatianna graduated from Baylor University School of Law in 2019. While completing her Juris Doctor degree, Tatianna served as a Law Clerk at two different firms and completed an internship under Managing Counsel at Balfour Beatty Construction. She is also a Certified Mediator. Outside of the firm, Tatianna enjoys being outdoors, working out, and traveling.

Kimber Davison Named to TEXO Board of Directors

Kimber Davison, Managing Shareholder & Vice President for Griffith Davison is appointed to serve on the TEXO Association Board of Directors, the largest commercial contractors association in Texas. The 26-member board of directors work together to establish association policies and strategies.

Ms. Davison has spent twenty-five years representing clients in commercial construction and real estate development and is a long-time active member of TEXO. In addition to her role on the Board of Directors, Ms. Davison has recently served on the Task Force on Owner-Contractor Agreements and currently serves on the 2019 Task Force on Subcontracts.  She has also been involved in the TEXO Womens Forum.

Jason L. Cagle joined Griffith Davison, P.C. in 2008, after clerking for a U.S. District Judge and practicing for several years with a well-known law firm. Firm Selects Operation Christmas Child

Each Christmas, Griffith Davison, P.C. selects a charity to which it donates time and resources and, in 2015, selected Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse.

Griffith Davison, P.C. packed 200 boxes that were delivered to little boys and girls around the world.

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. In short, their Operation Christmas Child initiative brings good news and great joy through the power of a simple gift.
