Overview

Trent Gray is an experienced construction litigator and business lawyer in Griffith Davison’s Dallas office. He has extensive experience representing individuals and corporate clients in all aspects of civil litigation. Trent focuses his practice on representing businesses, general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, real estate developers, and owners in a broad range of complex disputes. He also enjoys advising clients during construction projects when problems arise and negotiating an efficient resolution to avoid litigation.

Whether he’s representing a local contractor, an individual, or a Fortune 500 company, Trent brings a unique and detail-oriented approach to meet his client’s needs. Before joining Griffith Davison, Trent was a partner at a national full-service law firm where he focused on construction defects, manufacturing defects, healthcare and professional liability matters. Trent brings this valuable experience to a setting that permits more individualized client attention and a heightened focus on efficiently achieving client objectives.  In addition to being licensed in the State of Texas, Trent is also licensed in New Mexico and has successfully litigated cases in forums across the country, both in state and federal court.

Trent is a native Texan and grew up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and is an active member of the Dallas Bar Association, as well as several other local professional organizations. Outside of work, Trent enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife and kids. He has a passion for golf, Dallas professional sports teams, and doing anything outdoors.

  • Successfully negotiated a large settlement for a partner in a real estate development dispute arising out of a multi-million-dollar mixed use development.
  • Obtained favorable arbitration award for general contractor in a dispute with a subcontractor involving claims of indemnity and contribution.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of roofing contractor in large construction defect case relating to a commercial building.
  • Successfully resolved a multi-million-dollar construction defect claim against a subcontractor related to a residential apartment complex.
  • Successfully prosecuted a contractual indemnity claim on general contractor’s behalf after settlement with the real estate owner.
  • Successful resolution of negligence, breach of contract, and breach of warranty action involving the alleged failure of a stucco system used on a multi-million-dollar residence.
  • Obtained dismissal of a lawsuit against a licensed engineer for failure to file a Certificate of Merit.
